Pennsylvania
Tristan Davis is the Secretary of TEC (as of late 2005) and gave me this coin because he knows I'm a baseball fan like he is. I think he bought me a beer in Chandler, Arizona one time. Or maybe I bought him a beer, or was it two. Tristan, can you remember any of this? It could be that I'm drinking right now.
I don't know anything about this coin except that Tristan Davis gave it to me and that when he gave it to me we were sitting at a chain restaurant in Chandler, Arizona with 3 women who were getting drunk and eating fried food. OK, we were eating fried food too, no comment on the getting drunk part.
I haven't been to Pittsburgh since the fall of 1993. PNC Park wasn't even a sparkle in... uh... McClatchy's... eye back then. (I know... the new ball parks in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh were State of Pennsylvania initiatives, not the team owners and McClatchy didn't even own the Pirates back then...) Anyway, I liked Pitssburgh and I think I'll go back for a visit someday.
"Gettysburg Pennsylvania" Don't know where Gettysburg is? This coin will show you. (I know, I know, this scan is pretty bad... but you can make out the star in bottom middle right under that big smudge.) Tom Noel sent me this one.
"Gettysburg" This has the crossed flags of the Confederacy and the Union and something else in an inset oval that's impossible to make out. I'm staring and staring at it and I have no idea what it is. Thanks to Tom Noel for sending this one to me.
"North vs South - Gettysburg PA" Just in case you didn't know, it was North vs South and they used cannons.
"Gettysburg" Tom Noel wrote to me and said he had some pennies and did I want to trade and what do I like and I said I'm not much of a trader and send me whatever you want and this is one of the pennies he sent me. (Great Story, huh?)
